Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit, an Indian actress who is famous for her role in Hum Aapke Hain Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most well-known Indian actors. In the late 80s when she started her acting career. She became popular with the role of Tezaab in which she appeared with veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Her next film was the movie Dil In which she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dance at an early age. At the age of 15, she started acting but struggled as many of her movies were unsuccessful. She eventually found success and was one of the top actresses on the Indian film business. Following her wedding, she took a break from her acting career prior to returning. Dixit played an important role in Gulaab Gang, a film about women's struggles in India. Dixit was awarded eight Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen she was nominated for. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. The award was also given to her for her efforts in the field of social work.
